Stretch Marks In Pregnancy

If you are pregnancy, chances are you either already have stretch marks or are concerned about getting them. Stretch marks can be uncomfortable and unattractive and it’s no wonder why so many women fear getting them. Unfortunately, most women do get stretch marks.

Preventative Maintenance

Dermatologists will tell you that because stretch marks form from the inside out, there is no pregnancy stretch mark cream or other stretch mark removal that will keep you stretch mark free. All of the stretch mark prevention creams out there can do is moisturize your skin. However, using a pregnancy stretch mark cream cannot hurt anything, and many women swear by these pregnancy stretch mark creams. Doctors say that it is only coincidence when a woman uses pregnancy stretch mark cream and comes out of pregnancy without any stretch marks, but the reality is that they cannot know that for sure.

So go ahead and start using pregnancy stretch mark cream when you find out you are pregnant. At worst, you will simply be moisturizing your skin. This can be great for tight skin when you are pregnant and can prevent the itchiness that many women complain about. At best, the pregnancy stretch mark cream might keep you from getting stretch marks.

One of the best ways to avoid stretch marks is not with pregnancy stretch mark cream though. Instead, you should focus on your nutrition. Pregnancy stretch mark cream will not hurt you, but if you can combine good nutrition with these creams, you will be less likely to get stretch marks. Your skin is only as good as the food you are eating, and in order to have the best skin possible, you need to be eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. The more water you drink, the less likely it is that the collagen beneath your skin is going to tear and cause stretch marks.

Fixing Stretch Marks

If no amount of nutrition or pregnancy stretch mark cream helped you avoid stretch marks during your pregnancy, do not dismay. One of the easiest ways to cover up the stretch marks is simply by using self tanner. Self tanner will even out the skin tone and cover up unsightly stretch marks. Other remedies for stretch marks include laser treatment, which can be painful and expensive, and simply waiting it out. Over time your stretch marks will fade and become almost unnoticeable. As your body returns to normal, your skin will begin to look more normal, too.
